Luna, our beloved Goldendoodle, is an extraordinary companion. She combines the best qualities of two wonderful breeds, bringing endless joy and affection into our lives. Her presence fills our home with warmth and love, transforming every moment spent with her into a treasured memory. Luna weighs 40 pounds and stands 23 inches tall.

Goldendoodles are a family favourite, and it’s easy to see why! They’re super smart and playful, with a charming, sometimes cheeky personality that makes them fun to have around. Their affectionate and gentle nature adds to their appeal, making them wonderful companions for everyone.

This breed is highly intelligent and easygoing, with a strong desire to please their owners. Goldendoodles tend to believe that everyone and everything exists to love them back. Their intelligence makes them a joy to train and interact with, adding to their appeal as a companion.

Our precious goldendoodles live 10 to 14 years with proper, healthy food, exercise, and, most of all, LOVE. Their light shedding can be attractive for those with allergies; however, it is important to note that they are not completely non-shedding.

HEALTH TESTING

Ensuring the well-being of our Goldendoodle puppies is our top priority, just as it is for you. To maintain their health, we use DNA testing companies to screen our breeding lines for hereditary diseases. This proactive approach helps us provide happy and healthy puppies to their new families.

Luna has been tested and cleared of all Golden Doodle breed diseases. DNA testing is a tool for determining whether a dog may be affected by hereditary diseases or conditions. If both parents are free from these genetic issues, their offspring will also be unaffected. We ensure all dogs undergo testing for conditions relevant to their specific heritage breeds.

TEMPERAMENT

The Goldendoodle is a delightful, intelligent breed known for its playful, friendly demeanour. Their gentle spirit makes them wonderful companions, as they naturally get along with other pets, such as cats and rabbits. When well-socialized, these loving dogs eagerly seek to befriend everyone they meet, turning walks into joyful social occasions.

It’s crucial to understand that Goldendoodles thrive on companionship and may struggle if left alone for extended periods. It underscores your commitment to their well-being and the need for a safe, enclosed garden where they can flourish. Your care and attention are key to their happiness.

It’s crucial to ensure that Goldendoodles aren’t left alone outside for too long or placed in kennels too often; they can become distressed or destructive when bored. Providing them with the love and attention they deserve will help them flourish as cherished members of your family.

GROOMING

Goldendoodles require grooming to keep their coats in good condition and to prevent tangles. Those with curlier adult coats need daily care to avoid tangles and mats. It’s crucial to begin grooming puppies early so they become familiar with this important routine as they grow. Introducing grooming sessions within the first few months is advisable. Key tools for effective grooming include a long pin slicker brush, a metal poodle comb, and a detangling spray.

SOCIALIZING & TRAINING

The Goldendoodle is an excellent choice for a family pet, particularly when properly socialized from a young age. Known for their intelligence, Goldendoodles are generally easy to train. It’s crucial to start recall training early and continue it consistently. It is an important safety measure, particularly when distractions like others or dogs become too tempting to resist. Enrolling in puppy socialization and training classes can be highly beneficial. Positive reinforcement techniques are recommended to effectively guide their behaviour and learning.

EXERCISING

Goldendoodles require daily exercise, which should be gradually increased according to the guideline of 5 minutes per month of age. ‘Your puppy should have two 15-minute lead walks at six months each day. Avoid letting young puppies jump off high surfaces like sofas, frequently run up and down stairs, or jump out of car backs.

A well-adjusted goldendoodle needs 30 to 90 minutes of daily exercise to thrive, which includes engaging training sessions, interactive games with family members, enrichment toys, and chew toys. By providing them with the love and attention they deserve, you can keep your goldendoodle happy and healthy and yourself active and engaged.

THE STANDARD POODLE

The goldendoodle breed would not exist without the Poodle. Although the Poodle parent is often overlooked in this hybrid, it deserves recognition. Known for being fun, lively, active, intelligent, loyal, family-oriented, and easy to train, goldendoodles are special because of these traits.

THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER.

The golden retriever is an incredible, highly popular breed, and it’s easy to understand why. Known for their playful and obedient nature, they are excellent companions for children. While they may not excel as guard dogs due to their friendly disposition towards people, their kind, forgiving, and cheerful temperament makes them a beloved choice for many families. The list of their positive traits is extensive and continues to grow.

THE GOLDEN DOODLE GENERATIONS

An F1 Goldendoodle is a crossbreed of a purebred Poodle and a Golden Retriever. This generation of puppies is typically low to non-shedding, and when well-bred, they are often healthier than either of their parent breeds. While F1 Goldendoodles can be suitable for individuals with mild allergies, experienced breeders may recommend considering the F1b generation or higher for those with more significant allergy concerns.

The F1b is a purebred Poodle crossed with an F1 Goldendoodle. They typically shed less than the F1 cross, although individual shedding tendencies can vary among puppies within the same litter. It’s important to remember that no Goldendoodle is completely hypoallergenic, and there is always a chance of shedding within the breed. If you’re considering an F1b-generation Goldendoodle, you should be prepared for a less-shedding coat with some variation within the litter.

Goldendoodle with a Poodle rather than a Golden Retriever. Puppies resulting from a Golden Retriever parent in this generation tend to have flatter coats that shed more compared to those bred with a Poodle parent.

The F1bb generation is another adorable mix of an F1bb Goldendoodle and a purebred Poodle! This combination helps keep their coat just right, making these puppies a great choice for allergy sufferers. The F1bb generation is known for a more consistent, non-shedding coat, making them a popular choice for families with allergy concerns.

F2 litters, which result from crossing two F1 Goldendoodles, are relatively uncommon. Many breeders avoid producing these litters because the resulting puppies often have a variety of coat types. Specifically, at least 25% of each litter will have straight coats, which do not meet the preferred standards that many prospective owners seek in a Goldendoodle puppy. If you’re considering an F2 generation Goldendoodle, be prepared for a variety of coat types in the litter.

An F2b litter is produced by breeding an F1b Goldendoodle with an F1 Goldendoodle. This generation is particularly beneficial for individuals with allergies, as the entire litter is theoretically non-shedding if the coat type is tested for shedding-related traits. However, DNA testing must be conducted to ensure these characteristics are present.
